Strong people have meat on their bones
We live in a youth worshipping society. Unfortunately. As we age, humans tend to put on a little fat. Well, guess what? There is something to be said for that protective layer - particularly in our later years. From a fundamental frailty standpoint, you want some meat on your bones to protect you.
